Aguas claras Hike overview

We depart from Lençóis at 8:30 AM for a 25-minute drive to the trailhead. From there, we hike for about 2 hours across the plateaus on relatively flat and easy trails. These plateaus are characterized by Campos Gerais vegetation, arid grasslands interspersed with Caatinga, the typical shrubland of the region. In the background, the majestic Morrão (Great Mountain) stands out, growing increasingly dominant as we approach Águas Claras.

The Águas Claras creek forms a series of natural pools separated by small cascades of crystal-clear water. The area is charming and invites a refreshing swim after the walk under the bright sun. After swimming, we seek the shade of trees near the river to enjoy a well-deserved picnic. Much of the day is spent relaxing in the pure waters of the pools, absorbing the serenity that emanates from this natural sanctuary. After a good moment of contemplation, we return to the car and head back to Lençóis, completely rejuvenated.
